For a house hunter already familiar with Billingshurst, but not Rydon Homes, we were delighted that Mr Stephens chose to make Woodland Place his new home and that working alongside our local agent we made the buying process as easy as possible.
“We started our property search with Rightmove (as most people do these days) and came across a couple of local developments, including Rydon Homes and another slightly further afield. The homes at Woodland Place were being created at a plot of land I was familiar with, having lived in Billingshurst for 13 years, convenient for the train station and a few minutes further into the high street.
Visiting other developments, we sensed that while the prices were similar the houses were smaller than at Woodland Place, even though the number of rooms was the same. The layout of the Woodland Place properties have been thoughtfully laid out, particularly the living areas downstairs.
Another reason we chose Woodland Place was that it was a small number of new homes, each of which are a similar size, but with slightly different designs and interiors so no two are the same. Because it is surrounded by either woodland or a private drive we felt there is less chance of there being more development immediately next to us in the future.
As a Civil Engineer by trade I have watched the development take shape with interest. Rydon’s site manager James has been a visible presence on site - efficient at getting things done and happy to answer any questions. I was also pleased Rydon Homes included some environmental measures including water butts with the properties as it is something that I feel house builders should do more.
The local estate agent during the purchase process ‘Fowlers’ has been most helpful during the purchase process particularly Keith and Lindsey in the main office and Dawn in the sales house at Woodland Place. All the sales materials and the website clearly described the property and the options that we had. We were impressed by the quality of the artist impressions that gave a very accurate depiction of the outside of our new home. Having moved in there were the inevitable snags which cropped up but the majority of these have been dealt with efficiently by Corin and Amanda and the Rydon maintenance team.
There is very much a sense of community here. All of us are in a similar position having recently moved in and so you take the time to get to know each other and build a relationship as you’re all quite new. Everyone in this part of the development moved in at a similar time and funnily enough most of us have older children, either grown up and flown the nest, or going through or just left University.”
