Rydon Homes Eco Strategy

Sustainability and a respect for the environment are vitally important to us and to many of our customers. Rydon Homes on selected developments are built to the EcoHomes 'Very Good' standard, with a whole range of features to help you live a greener life.

Depending on the development, these might include energy efficient heating, lighting and 'A' or 'A+' rated kitchen appliances. At some developments we are already installing liquid petroleum gas-fired heating. Aerated taps, water butts and dual-flush toilets all help conserve water, and by providing facilities such as kitchen waste recycling containers, rotary clothes dryers and cycle stores, we make it easier to adopt eco-friendly ways of living.

The materials used in our homes are from renewable sources and we have worked hard to cause minimal environmental disruption while building, in line with our Considerate Constructor status.

We also take great care in how we treat the areas surrounding our developments. Where possible we retain existing trees and hedges, often supplementing them with new planting or improvements to wildlife habitats.
