Over the Easter weekend, Saturday 11th April and Sunday 12th April, visitors to Rydon’s two brand new show homes at Sunnybrooke in Uckfield will enjoy a visual feast and a ‘sweet treat’ in the shape of a small chocolate egg!

Sunnybrooke, comprising a delightful collection of substantial new homes in an attractive tree-fringed setting, has proved so successful that only a ‘handful’ of homes remain available, including the two new show homes.   The development’s  success stems from a combination of style, specification and location; the new development has an attractive rural feel but is actually only about half a mile from Uckfield’s High Street.  The fact that there’s a wide range of house types at Sunnybrooke also adds to the development’s charm – and this variety is evident in the remaining homes.

The two new show homes feature the weatherboarding typical of rural Sussex but rather than using dark boarding, the design team at Rydon Homes has opted for lighter shades often associated with ‘New England.’  The new homes in the ‘Natural Collection’ are also traditional, but with feature tile-hangings and architectural detail of the type used widely in the late 19th and early 20th centuries in Sussex and Kent.  The impressive detached homes in the ‘Natural Collection’ all have south-facing verandahs overlooking the wildlife area on the edge of the development.

Internally, as the show homes reveal, the interiors are entirely contemporary with the latest fixtures and fittings.  One of the new show homes is the Woodcote, a five-bedroom detached home set over three levels. On the lower level, both the kitchen/dining room and the family room open directly onto the rear garden.   The drawing room and master bedroom with its own en-suite bathroom with separate shower are located on the upper ground floor whilst, on the third floor, are a family bathroom and four further bedrooms, one with an en-suite shower room.

The second show scheme has been created within the Wealden, a substantial executive house that’s ideal for entertaining. The impressive ground floor kitchen/dining room and drawing room, both open onto the rear garden.  On the first floor, one of the three bedrooms has an en-suite shower room whilst, on the second floor, there’s a huge amount of flexible living space. This studio or bonus room, extending to over 31 feet, would be ideal for use as a master bedroom, a home cinema room, a play room or a ‘chill out’ area for teenagers.
