When Mark and Claire Ahern began their search for a new home, Claire was convinced that Loxwood in Sussex was the only place she wanted to live – until she discovered Rydon Homes’ Bourn Meadows in the delightful village of Kirdford.

Mark, Claire and their two children have been living in Loxwood for the last seven years, almost on the doorstep of Mark’s business ‘Just Hair @ Mark Russell.’   They love Loxwood and the village lifestyle but decided to downsize within the village in order to have more time to make the most of the south coast, which is approximately one hour’s drive away.

“We’d been looking out for a new home in Loxwood for some time but there just wasn’t anything that suited our needs,” says Claire.  “We were in the estate agents’ office going through literally everything on the market and noticed that there were some detached homes available at Bourn Meadows in Kirdford.  At that stage I was absolutely adamant that I only wanted to live in Loxwood.  When we visited Bourn Meadows, though, we really liked the village and the house.  The fact that the house was brand new with a manageable-sized garden and everything we wanted made me change my mind!”

Now the Aherns have moved into their new four-bedroom home at Bourn Meadows which comprises just 27 new homes, set around a new village green.  They are already becoming part of the community that has already developed at Bourn Meadows where the buyers include single people, couples and families.

“The children are really excited about the move,” adds Claire.  “They just love the green space at the heart of the development.   The school bus stop is just down the road, it’s easy for us to get to the coast from here and Mark is only about five miles from the salon in Loxwood.  It’s also relatively easy for him to get to his other salon in Claygate, Surrey.”

The new homes at Bourn Meadow are all traditionally built and finished with tile hangings and white render and careful attention has been given to the interior layout and the high quality specification.

“I really like the stylish kitchen in our new home and the fact that the master bedroom has its own dressing room.  We don’t have a family room downstairs but there’s a large room over the garage that the children will use as their own space,” adds Claire.

Bourn Meadows has proved so popular that only three homes remain available including the four-bedroom detached Parham show home with a double garage and beautiful garden and a two-bedroom semi-detached Oakwood show home, which has a single garage and a private garden.  The Parham is priced at £615,000 and the Oakwood at £299,950.
