Bourn Meadows in Kirdford stands out from the crowd!

January 2008

Having worked in the property industry for over 25 years, I’ve seen countless developments and numerous show homes but as soon as I visited Rydon Homes’ Bourn Meadows in Kirdford, I knew that I wanted to live there! Within minutes, I reserved a two-bedroom house and now can’t wait until my new home is completed this summer!

Although the development is under construction and visitors have to use their imagination to picture just how attractive the development with its new village green and traditional Sussex-style houses will be when it’s finished, the potential of Bourn Meadows is obvious.

Each of the 13 two, three, four and five bedroom homes has been designed to overlook the green and none of the houses face, or back onto, any of the other homes, creating a real sense of privacy.  Each house has a rear garden, the majority of which are fringed with mature trees and each has a garage, which is a real bonus as far as I am concerned.  On the boundary of Bourn Meadows is a wildlife corridor and footpaths leading to the beautiful surrounding countryside.

When I attended the show home launch, with the intention of writing a press release; I was just beginning to think about downsizing; I’ve recently come out of a long term relationship, my daughter has just started university and my son has moved to London so I don’t need a large property any longer.

I was completely bowled over by the design and layout of the show home which has an enormous kitchen/dining room, separate utility, impressive triple-aspect drawing room, three really spacious double bedrooms and plenty of storage space.

Choosing a property was difficult; at Bourn Meadows there’s a range of really attractive two and three-bedroom terraced homes.  Eventually, I settled on an end-of-terrace house with a spacious living/dining room, a contemporary kitchen and two bedrooms, one with an en-suite shower room and the other with an en-suite bathroom.  My new home will come complete with a double oven, ceramic hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine so I won’t need to spend too much once I move in.

Kirdford is the type of village many of us dream of living in; it has a 12th century church, a main street lined with handsome period buildings and two oak-beamed pubs.  It feels really rural but is within easy reach of Petworth, Billingshurst and Wisborough Green. In fact, it’s perfectly placed for me to be able to visit my friends in Chichester and Guildford and the drive to my office in Passfield, near Liphook, will take me along some lovely quiet country roads.

Over the last couple of months, I’ve interviewed some really nice people who have bought properties off-plan at Bourn Meadows and I’d like to thank them all; their enthusiasm about the development helped fire my own – and at least I know that I’ll have great neighbours!

If you want to join us at Bourn Meadows, where prices start from £315,000 for a two-bedroom terraced home, please contact the Rydon Homes’ sales team on 01403 820824.
