Jane buys her perfect country home at Bourn Meadows in Kirdford off-plan!

November 2007

Home buyer, Jane Price, had been looking for a new home for over two years when she came across Rydon Homes’ Bourn Meadows development in Kirdford. Now, she can’t wait until early next summer to move in!

Located in the hamlet of Kirdford, deep in the West Sussex countryside, Bourn Meadows comprises a collection of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes clustered around a lovely village green. This idyllic rural retreat also includes a wildlife corridor and footpaths leading to the beautiful surrounding countryside.  Even the drive to Kirdford, along country lanes which wind past fields and woodland, is pleasurable.

Kirdford is a traditional village with a 12th century church, a main street lined with handsome period buildings and two oak-beamed pubs. For shopping and further facilities, Wisborough Green,  Petworth and Billingshurst are within easy reach.

“I was living in Croydon but wanted to move from the town to a much more rural environment.  I was really attracted by the West Sussex area, which is beautiful,” says Jane.  “I sold my house and have spent the last two years living with friends and looking for a property that would provide everything I was looking for.  I viewed two older properties in Kirdford and just loved the area, so when I came across Rydon Homes’ Bourn Meadows, I was delighted.”

Jane likes everything about the development, particularly the layout of the new homes, as she explains:

“I love the fact that the development is small and that it backs onto open fields.  I think it is particularly nice that the new homes face the village green and don’t back onto, or face, each other. The overall layout creates a real sense of space but, at the same time, the development has been planned in such as way that it will generate a sense of community.”

Jane has chosen a three-bedroom end of terrace house and has bought at such an early stage of construction that she will be able to make choices to personalise her new property:

“I never thought that I’d buy a new home off-plan but it’s fantastic that I can have the luxury of choosing my own colour schemes, ceramic tiles and other items. It all feels so right and I have to keep pinching myself to check I’m not dreaming!”

Now Jane is looking forward to walking and riding her bike around the local countryside.  She is also excited about the possibility that, when the development is complete, the marketing suite may be taken over as a new village shop:

“I wish the entire village well in its efforts to gain permission for the village shop at Bourn Meadows,” concludes Jane.  “A shop on site would create a meeting point for the village and, if it is set up, it will use local produce, which is an excellent idea.”

Jane and the other off-plan purchasers at Bourn Meadows are looking forward to the opening of the show home which will take place on 17th January, providing a first chance to view the quality of finish, the style and the specification for which Rydon Homes has earned an outstanding reputation.
