Merchants Mews in Canterbury is off to a ‘flying start’ as far as the Rydon Homes’ sales team is concerned! The recent sales launch and show home opening was an outstanding success, generating plenty of local interest in this attractive courtyard-style development of brand new two and three-bedroom houses.

The sophisticated interior design scheme in the new show home was applauded for its bold stripes, strong colours, rich textures and the high quality specification for which Rydon Homes is renowned. Granite work surfaces and a full complement of integrated and stainless-steel finished appliances are standard at Merchants Mews, every property has allocated parking and four of the new homes even have their own garages.

During the launch weekend many visitors discovered that these cottage-style houses have a hidden secret: an amazing amount of living space!

To the amazement of potential purchasers, even the smallest house type, The Callcott, a delightful two-bedroom, two-bathroom cottage with a kitchen and large drawing room provides more than 810 square feet of living space, whilst the largest house, the three-bedroom Brabourne offers more than 1310 square feet.

With only 12 new homes on offer and six different house types, including terraced and semidetached homes, there’s almost too much choice; each house type has something special to offer.

The Brabourne and the two-bedroom Chilenden both have sliding doors providing fantastic, flexible living space that’s great for entertaining, the two-bedroom Petham and the three-bedroom, three-storey Chartham  feature attractive sun lounges whilst The Chartham and the three-bedroom, three-storey Selstead have a useful store room and a study/bedroom tucked away on the uppermost floor.

“The houses at Merchants Mews have been particularly well-received by the Canterbury property market because of their space and design, their location on New Dover Road and also because houses are an unusual commodity in a property market where the majority of new homes seem to be apartments,” comments Natalie Flint, Sales and Marketing Director for Rydon Homes. “Quite a few of our visitors are looking to downsize from larger family homes in the area. They want to be near Canterbury’s city centre but aren’t quite ready to move into an apartment. On this small, exclusive development, the homes will be easy to maintain, the private gardens are of a manageable size, parking and some garaging is provided and residents will be able to walk into the city centre. And, most importantly for some people, they’ll still be able to go ‘upstairs’ to bed!”
